Departments of the Institute

The Institute for Applied Studies carries out its scientific, research, and development activities through five thematically organized departments. These departments cover the Institute’s key areas of activity and contribute to an interdisciplinary approach to science, education, and applied research.

The Department of Social Sciences and Humanities focuses on the study of contemporary social processes, education, culture, and overall societal development. Particular emphasis is placed on the analysis of public policies, educational systems, social change, and current societal challenges.

The Department’s work is based on an interdisciplinary approach that enables a comprehensive understanding of social phenomena, drawing upon the development of educational theory and pedagogy, from the classical philosophical traditions of antiquity to contemporary educational systems and modern theoretical approaches in the field of education.

The Department of Sustainable Development and Environment is dedicated to research in the fields of environmental protection, climate change, and sustainable development policies. Particular attention is given to the circular economy, the responsible use of natural resources, and the development of models that contribute to the sustainable and environmentally responsible development of society.

The Department of Energy and Renewable Energy Sources focuses on research related to modern energy systems, energy efficiency, and the application of renewable energy sources. Its activities support the energy transition, the development of green technologies, and the analysis of the impact of energy policies on economic and social development.

The Department of Education and Human Resource Development is engaged in the development of educational programs, the enhancement of competencies, and the promotion of lifelong learning. Its activities include non-formal and dual education, professional training, and the alignment of educational processes with the needs of contemporary society and the labor market.

The Department of Projects, Innovation and International Cooperation coordinates scientific research and development projects, as well as collaboration with national and international partners. Its activities are focused on the development and implementation of project initiatives in areas of scientific, educational, and social importance, with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary research and the practical application of research results.

Special attention is given to knowledge and technology transfer, strengthening cooperation between research institutions, educational organizations, and the business sector, as well as active participation in European and regional research and development programs.

The Department contributes to the Institute’s international presence through the development of partnerships, networking with relevant institutions, and participation in joint projects that promote innovation, knowledge exchange, and the advancement of scientific cooperation.

Student Internship Program

Through its Student Internship Program, the Institute provides students with the opportunity to gain practical experience in the fields of research, education, and project management, while becoming familiar with the work of a scientific institution in a real-world environment.

The program is designed to support the professional and academic development of students by enabling them to participate in research activities, educational initiatives, and various projects carried out by the Institute. Through mentorship, practical engagement, and knowledge exchange, participants develop valuable skills and gain insights that complement their academic studies.

The Institute encourages motivated and talented students to actively contribute to scientific and professional activities while building a strong foundation for their future careers.
